Station window loses focus when inactive

(Alexandre Lacheze) #1

The issue I’m facing is:
With Station 1.16.0, my expected behaviors of “active field” are wrong. If I cmd+tab back into station which has slack on top, it no longer has my cursor in the messages box. Additionally, cmd+k are not available until I actually “click” on the slack window, then I get the functionality back.

Kind of critical as now if I cmd+Tab back to Station I am being forced to “click” into the messages box to begin typing, pretty obnoxious, wish I could go back

Here’s a reproduction to the bug

It’s killing me guys, there’s even situations where I’ll start typing and then the focus on the message field will fall off and I’ll have to click back in to type again.

The issue I’m facing is:

Ever since the 1.16.0 update I’ve had issues with the focus of the app not working correctly. If I command+tab to switch back to station from another app, I have to click into station before being able to type. This is especially frustrating/time consuming when attempting to communicate via slack, or compose an email message.

Here’s the detailed report

  • Trigger: switching from another app to station
  • Issue: App focus isn’t working, e.g. can’t jump right to typing for email, or slack, etc.
  • Explanatory gifs/pictures (we really need that  ): Here’s a YouTube video of my issue:
  • OS version: macOS Sierra 10.12.6
  • Station version: 1.16.0

I can confirm that the 1.16.1 fix resolved the issue for me

The issue I’m facing is …
If I have a Google Drive document(Doc/sheet/etc.) open in Station and I have Station unfocused(using a different window on different monitor), clicking on a cell or line in a doc doesn’t place the cursor in the document, rather it highlights a single space. Which requires a second click every single time in order to input content into the document.

I haven’t noticed this issue with other applications.

Video-clip of the issue:

Here’s the detailed report

  • Trigger: Clicking on a Google drive document when Station is not currently focused but is visible on the monitor.
  • Issue: Inputting content into a Google drive document requires two clicks if station is unfocused.
  • Explanatory gifs/pictures:
  • OS version: Windows 7
  • Station version: 1.12.0
  • Electron version: 2.0.0
  • Chrome version: 61.0.3163.100
  • Node version: 8.9.3
  • v8 version: 6.1.534.41
  • @getstation/services version: 0.14.2
